I recently had a contractor install ceiling recessed lights, and decided to go with traditional cans/ lights (not slim canless). My reason was that I can easily switch out the lights (trims) if they were to go out in the future, vs. slim canless you'd have to rewire it which I didn't want to mess with.Hello all,
I currently have fluorescent can lights (recessed lights) for my ceiling, and would like to change to LED can lights. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Charlie
I also would just replace it with LED cans as rewiring is just a big pain.@Charlie
While it is possible to rewire to convert fluorescent to LED can lights, there are not many contractors who are familiar doing this. Most of the time they will just remove the can altogether and replace with LED compatible cans. Basically accomplishes the same thing in the end, I just prefer to rewire because I think it is cleaner and more efficient.
Agreed, this is what most of what we see.I also would just replace it with LED cans as rewiring is just a big pain.
